ABOUT
About bgremover.ai
bgremover.ai is built by InverseAI. It removes video and photo backgrounds with an AI model on our GPU servers, and this page explains how it works.
Who Builds This
bgremover.ai is built and operated by Inverse.AI, Level 7, House No. 401, Road No. 29, Mohakhali DOHS, Dhaka-1212, Bangladesh.
We build browser-based media tools. The sister product is vidartai.com, a video editor that also runs in the browser. Background removal sits on its own site because it is the job most people arrive with.
Why It Is Free
Trying it needs no account, there is no credit meter, and we add no watermark to the download. Elsewhere in this category, those are what the free tier is built around.

What "Free" Means Elsewhere
Free in this category usually means a preview. Checked on 1 September 2026.
| Tool | What "free" gives you | Paid entry |
|---|---|---|
| bgremover.ai | Free, no account | Nothing to buy |
| Canva | Canva Pro only | Pro subscription |
| Adobe Express | Premium only | $9.99/mo |
| VEED | One try, 720p, watermarked | $12/mo |
| Kapwing | 720p, 4 min, watermarked | $16/mo |
| cutout.pro | 5 sec at 360p | $9 per minute |
| unscreen.pro | Preview, no download | $4.99–$99/mo |
Neither Canva nor Adobe Express exports a transparent video, and unscreen.pro sells queue priority as a paid tier. The removal is demonstrated; the file is sold.
Two of the best free tools here are being withdrawn twelve months apart: Unscreen stopped working on 1 December 2025, Canva closed unscreen.com on 29 June 2026, and remove.bg's standalone site closes on 1 December 2026 at 09:00 CET. We built bgremover.ai so there is still a free, no-signup option.

How It Works Technically
Background removal runs on our GPU servers. Your browser does the rest: it resizes a video to at most 1280 pixels on the long side, uploads it in short segments so processing starts before the upload finishes, and builds the finished export from the mask the server returns.
The finished export is never sent to us, and the upload and its masks are not stored. The privacy page documents exactly what is kept.
What This Tool Does Not Do
- Not unlimitedClips are capped at 5 minutes, and at busy times a job may wait briefly for a free GPU.
- Not the sharpest on hairFine strands are still read less cleanly than a well-lit chroma key.
- Not benchmarkedOur edges are unmeasured against other tools, so we claim no quality ranking.
- No transparent videoExports composite onto a background you pick, or onto chroma green to key later.
- No green screen substituteA well-lit chroma backdrop still wins on fine detail.
- Not an editorNo trimming, no titles, no timeline. That is what vidartai.com is for.
How video background removal works sets out the mechanism and every failure case in full. If it fails on your footage, tell us what happened — that is the most useful message we get.
